THE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
In 2006, a diverse group of young professionals, entrepreneurs, actors and entertainers banded
together to create the Leadership Council that assists APCH's Board of Directors and staff in
serving "at risk" kids and their families in South Los Angeles. With gang activity on the rise
and growing economic problems in these communities, the need for caring, energetic adults who are
willing to devote their time and resources has never been greater. The Leadership Council's primary
goal is to ensure that APCH continues to be a beacon of hope for kids and their families who struggle
against poverty, illiteracy and violence. Leadership Council members often serve as mentors, tutors
and volunteers at APCH in addition to assisting APCH in raising its annual operating budget of
approximately $3 million.
