THE CHARITIES
If you're a kid in South Central, there's no better place to hang after school than A Place Called Home (APCH).
APCH is an oasis for inner city kids who would otherwise be on the street, tempted by drugs and gangs and threatened
by violence. For the past fourteen years, it has served as a safe, home-like environment for thousands where kids can
enjoy an after school meal, study, play sports, make music, learn dance, get mentoring and tutoring services, and have
fun. Time and again, APCH kids defy incredible odds, succeed in school and grow up to be happy, productive adults. It
is the love and support of donors, volunteers and sponsors that sustains APCH, its gifted staff, superb programs and,
most of all, the courageous kids who inspire us all.

We are happy to announce our partner in this year's event is Reach Back LA.
REACHBACK L. A. is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 whose mission is to provide an environment of perpetual learning
and development for at-risk youth, ages 8 to 17 and create a partnership with teen's ages 18 and 19 to prepare
them for the transition to adulthood. This is accomplished by offering structure and positive alternatives to
alienation and juvenile delinquency through comprehensive programs in education, health, gang prevention and
intervention, social and cultural enrichment, sports and recreational activities, which emphasize family
involvement, pride in the community, and academic excellence. Chico Brown, founder and Director of the
organization has over 10 years of experience with at-risk youth and was former Gang Prevention and Intervention
